Q. Can I install it myself?
A. Yes, considering your not a complete novice, those with basic skills and the right tools should have little difficulty installing the basic system. Read all instructions before beginning!Q. I rather have a professional install it but who?
A. Try your local Cadillac dealer, automotive or alarm shop. Because of it's simplicity an installer need not have prior Allante experience. My advise, use some one you know and trust.Q. How much would a shop charge to install it?
A. Obviously labor rates vary from place to place but the basic install should take an hour or so. Connecting options will require more time but on the whole a full blown install should take no more than three hours.Q. Where is the factory module I need to replace?
A. From '87-'92 the TDM module is up in the dash behind the glove box. In '93 it is up under the dash above the brake pedal. In all years the module is the same, self contained in it's own plastic flip top enclosure. For more on TDM locations see listings below.Q. Do I need the relay kit to open the trunk or fuel door?
A. Yes, if you would like that feature. You can of course wire in your own relays but the kit we offer is pre wired especially for the Allante. The pre wired terminals connect directly to the vehicles factory wiring. The only wires you need to run are those from the KSM to the relays.
